Emily began her nursing career as a Labor and Delivery RN in 2001 after she received her BSN from UNC-Charlotte. In 2008 she graduated from Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing with her MSN and Women's Healthcare Nurse Practitioner degrees. Since 2008 she has been working as a Women's Healthcare NP in various OBGYN offices in several states. Emily is board certified with the National Certification Corporation and is licensed to practice in both Tennessee and Alabama as an NP. She has been practicing in Alabama since 2010.
Emily lives in Meridianville with her husband, step daughter, and her son and daughter from a previous marriage. She also has two loving dogs to keep her busy. Her passions outside of gynecology are gardening, hiking, yoga, playing guitar, dancing, singing, puzzles, and a huge love of travel. Originally born in Asheville, NC she has lived in TN, AZ, and now AL since 2009.
January 1st 2024 Emily created the Holistic Wellness Collective. This is a group of 12 women owned businesses that all specialize in holistic and nature based healthcare or healing modalities all under one roof. Emily has completed a 6 month training program to become a certified Flower Essence Practitioner. Flower essences are helpful in a myriad of ways on the physical, emotional, mental and energetic levels. These essences are particularly effective in helping women work through sexual trauma, abuse, and the general suppression of sexuality which is so common especially in the deep South. In April 2022 she became a Certified Flower Essence Practitioner after completing the credentialing process.
The summer of 2020 she took a training program through Huntsville Crisis Services to become a forensic nurse examiner with both physical and sexual abuse victims. Her knowledge of how to interact and help victims of abuse is unique as a practitioner in gynecology. This knowledge and skill set is not taught in traditional medical or nursing schools. She has always had an interest in working with women as a sexual counselor not just in instances of abuse but also for relationship guidance, sexual difficulties with orgasm for example, and educating women on their bodies and making them comfortable discussing their sexual wants and needs with whomever they choose.
Emily was certified in the Wholesome Fertility Method in October 2023 as she continued to gain knowledge to create her own unique fertility program. In this one of a kind program she combines many modalities to create a whole body, mind, and soul approach to help couples bring a new life into the world. Traditional infertility care only looks at the woman's hormonal health and the man's semen analysis. This misses so much as both partner's health on every level contribute to a couple's ability to conceive and carry a baby to term.

Have you ever had an abnormal pap smear? If so you are in the majority and I am in this category as well. Traditional medicine gives you only two options for treatment, surgery or wait a year and test again. Well I don't know about you but I find those options riddled with anxiety, pain, complications, long term consequences, and frankly just don't heal anything! Flower essences are liquid, energetic medicine derived from flowers, plants, and trees. Mother Earth has so many natural remedies to share with us that have been forgotten but were always available to us. Basically, a flower essence helps shift and move deeply held patterns or beliefs imprinted in childhood that are now affecting us in adulthood. They bring awareness to these patterns and help us release them so we can heal. They have been used for centuries in ceremony, for spiritual development, and to heal.
Flower essences are dispensed in glass dropper bottles and usually taken several times a day under the tongue but can be applied topically or used in a bath or humidifier. Results to essences vary from profound and immediate to subtle shifts of mental and emotional states. I perform flower essence evaluations and distribute unique formulas that I make to clients for any problem but with a focus on gynecologic problems, specifically womb healing from any type of sexual trauma or suppression. This is a three month commitment as the healing process is a journey and not an overnight fix. At the initial consultation you pay $287 which covers that and the 2 follow up sessions. During the session we discuss your obstacles so that I can formulate 1-3 custom flower essence formulas you will take for one month based on your unique situation. I will start by preparing the herbs for your yoni steam. Once cool enough, the pot of steaming herbs will be placed under the yoni seat. You'll sit on the seat and allow the steam to enter your womb.
As the group settles into the steaming process, Shaleesa Bynum of Resonant Earth Sound Therapy (https://www.instagram.com/resonant_earth/) will begin a guided meditation and soothing quartz crystal sound bath to softly complement the gentle herbal steam. When you feel the steaming is complete, you can choose to transition to a yoga mat to receive the remainder of the sound bath.
What to Bring:
• Please wear a long dress or skirt to cover yourself during the yoni steam (see picture below).
• If you choose to lay on a yoga mat after steaming to receive the sound bath, please bring a small pillow. (Yoga mats, blankets, and.yoni seats are provided).
• Please bring one pot for your herbal steam.
• Optional: Feel free to bring sentimental items to carry with you through the journey like stones, crystals, prayer beads, etc.

Light Emitting Diode (LED) phototherapy is the application of light energy to tissue to obtain therapeutic benefits. The energy is used to improve cellular performance. Phototherapy is known for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties and has a variety of applications across many medical fields. Research has shown that phototherapy can: increase circulation, accelerate tissue repair, kill acne bacteria, decrease inflammation, improve skin tone, texture and clarity, reduce ease muscle and joint pain, stiffness, spasm and arthritis.
LED therapy is a highly versatile modality and can be used as a powerful stand-alone or add-on treatment to most spa-menu services. For maximum benefit, a 30-minute treatment is recommended. Whenever possible use over clean, dry, bare skin as lotions, creams, serums and clothing may decrease effectiveness by restricting light penetration.
Blue, red and near-infrared are the most commonly used wavelengths in LED phototherapy. These specific wavelengths are well researched and scientifically proven to produce therapeutic benefits. Blue penetrates through the epidermis and is known to kill acne bacteria. Red penetrates into the dermal layer and has been shown to enhance collagen and elastin production through photo-biostimulation of fibroblasts. Near-infrared penetrates deepest and increases micro-circulation (tissue repair), decreases inflammation and attenuates pain.
I use this therapy session for 30min twice a week in my fertility clients, both men and women to improve sperm and ovarian health. These sessions also work well for menstrual cramps and wrinkles. These sessions can be scheduled as a stand alone appointment or added on after a facial or before/after a massage at the Holistic Wellness Collective.
